If you need guidance about a situation of abuse, the route is a different one: I need support.
The Foundation at a glance
- What it is. Fundación Para la Confianza (FPLC), founded in 2010 by José Andrés Murillo, Juan Carlos Cruz and James Hamilton.
- What it does. It supports people who have been victims of sexual abuse, prevents abuse in families, schools and organisations, trains professionals and the adults responsible for care, and advocates for policies that protect children and adolescents.
- Where. José Ramón Gutiérrez 269, Santiago, Chile. Support is also offered online.
- Framework. Lucid trust: trusting with awareness and without naivety, grounded in recognition, dignity and care.
Public positions
- Statement on the bill on false reports: it asks the Senate to reject the bill.
- Policy brief on the bill on false reports: the facts, the risks for children and adolescents, and the sources.
- Seminar “Between silence and suspicion” (23 October 2026): programme, presentations and recording.
- Advocacy campaigns.
Publications
- 10 años por un mundo sin abuso (2021, PDF in Spanish): the Foundation’s first ten years.
- Por un Mundo sin Abuso magazine, No. 17: Violence against women (November 2021).
How we speak about child sexual abuse
- We say “child or adolescent”, and we put the focus on their lack of protection.
- We say “people who have been victims of abuse”.
- Prevention is the responsibility of adults and institutions. It does not depend on a child or adolescent knowing how to say “no”, or on insisting until someone listens.
