Message from the Executive Director
2024 was one of the most complex periods in the Foundation’s almost fifteen years. The bankruptcy of a partner organisation that was sustaining financial commitments forced the Foundation to reduce the team from about 30 to 10 people and to restructure its administration. The board played a key role.
Even with fewer resources, demand for talks and prevention activities grew, and the team reorganised itself to respond. Representing victims in a high-profile case brought a media offensive against the Foundation, which affected its reputation and the team, and reaffirmed its conviction to protect victims above all else.
The letter closes with the idea of returning to the Foundation’s purpose: no abuse should be silenced and prevention is possible. The Foundation ends the year with a more stable base, renewed executive leadership and a cohesive team.
Executive Director, 2024: José Andrés Murillo Urrutia.
